Thus, it’s better to adopt unidirectional rollers. When the belt goes up, the rollers will rotate accordingly, in this case, friction between upper belt and rollers is rolling friction. While if the belt is breakage and upper belt goes downward slide, at the same time rollers cannot do reverse rotation, on this occasion, friction between upper belt and rollers is sliding friction. In this way can it realize breaking. Generally, the material of belt is rubber while roller is steel. So static sliding friction coefficient between belt and roller is 0.9, and dynamic friction coefficient is 0.6-0.8. In addition, the angle of upward transport belt conveyor is less than 18°. When the belt is breakage and goes downward slide, as long as rollers don’t rotate accordingly, it can prevent belt from sliding if we install spilling flap on the frame. Taking the actual working conditions into consideration and according to the experimental measurement, coefficient of sliding friction between belt and roller is more than 0.45.
